Imaging and preservation
Resolution describes how many samples cover an area. Focus, camera movement and the source itself also affect visible detail. No single resolution suits every comparison question. Enlarging an existing image generates interpolated pixels rather than recovering details missed during capture.
If a line ending breaks into large square blocks, make a closer optical capture of the original or scan it again. Keep the first file as well. A new close-up of the paper is more informative than an enlarged screenshot of the same image.
