The lab tries to find a region to compare automatically. Note which part of each page appears in the overlay and at what scale. For a documented examination, record any rotation as well. Stretching width alone can create an apparent match. Keep both full pages as received.
Suppose two invoice signatures line up after enlargement. Describe the matching strokes and the scale used, then consider whether both images might share a source. The overlap does not show whether anyone authorized reuse. If the stroke ends are indistinct, take a sharper close-up before comparing them.
