Legal document examination / Forensic handwriting and documents in legal disputes
Section 19 of Israel’s Succession Law describes a handwritten will written entirely by the testator, with a date and signature in the testator’s hand. If a beneficiary’s name in the margin is disputed, mark its position on a working copy and leave the original untouched.
For words, collect ordinary writing of known origin, ideally from around the relevant date. For the signature, collect known signatures as well. An opinion about who wrote the text does not by itself establish testamentary capacity or undue influence.
